I don't really like wearing jackets because I feel like they restrict me. Living in MN some days you NEED one. This is great. Very warm and feels like I am wearing a sweatshirt or heavy sweater with more warmth!
I would recommend this product.

So my one/only problem with this coat is that if I want to wear it with any nice(r) quality sweaters - IE ones made of cashmere, woool, cotton, or rayon blends (even "cheaper quality" ones from places like the GAP outlets, etc) - I have to wear a cheap hoodie between my nice sweater and the jacket!
The reason is because something about the reflective warming properties of the omni-heat technology causes sweaters to pill like crazy! The first time I noticed this my sweater was completely covered in little pills, almost to the point of it being ruined. And I use this coat to wear to/from school and work, so it's not really like I'm wearing it for really long periods of time at once, either...
Given the cost of the coat, this was really disappointing. Wearing a hoodie underneath the coat to protect my sweaters is annoying because the coat is so warm you shouldn't NEED to!
Now I'm not a completely negative Nancy, so I will say that the coat is extremely warm - it was perfectly fine to wear/kept me warm until it started getting below 30 degrees F! It was only at that time when I started needing something heftier. Even with strong winds and 30 degree weather, this coat keeps me mega warm, (which is what makes my 'sweater protecting' layering so annoying).
The coat is also well constructed and washes/dries really well.
Really, the sweater pilling is my only complaint, but it's a big one because I like my sweaters and don't like having them ruined.
I would recommend this product.

I loved this jacket as soon as I got it in the sea salt color (white). It is flattering and I think will be warm (I havent worn it in really cold temps yet). I am a size 4-6 and it fits well, though I think it will be too small with a bulky sweater underneath.
But here's the real problem: It does not come clean in the wash. I knew white would show dirt much faster so was not concerned when that happened. However, when I washed it in the washing machine per the instructions after less than two months' wear the dirt did not come off at all. The dirt is normal wear dirt - the outer cuffs and a few spots of coffee that were less than a week old. I washed it two times per the instructions in fact and it never got clean. I sent an email to Columbia and am hoping they can help me as I do love the jacket otherwise.
I do not recommend this product.

I purchased this jacket for my 14 year old daughter after seeing a friend wearing it. My friend raved about how light weight yet extremely warm it was using the body's own temperature using the reflective insulation. My daughter is in high school and found it difficult placing winter jackets in her locker. This jacket is so thin that she's able to fold it up and place it easily in the locker. She loves the jacket, stating that it's comfortable to wear, is nice and warm and she loves the color! This jacket really looks great on her. This jacket was definitely worth the money!
I would recommend this product.
