Customer reviews for Columbia Men’s Lhotse Mountain™ Parka - Tall

Columbia Men’s Lhotse Mountain™ Parka - Tall

The south face of Lhotse Mountain is the stuff of legends: dramatically steep and treacherous, brutally cold and stunningly beautiful. We like to think that the jacket that shares its namesake is equally amazing, if not quite as massive.

Great coat for North Dakota. Very warm and light weight. Secures you from the wind. I really like this coat. Best coat I have ever purchased. I have had several coats from Columbia and this is the best.

I was trying to buy my Dad a coat for his birthday. The coat arrived with hair & dandruff on it, torn velcro, and worn spots. Clearly, Columbia Sportswear thought I wouldn't mind paying new price to give my Father a used coat for his birthday. Be sure to specify that you want a NEW coat when ordering.

Hi everyone I'm 6'3 and 270lbs i ordered the 3XLT and so far I love I'm glad that I ordered the size that i did it leaves just enough room for some extra base layers, Where I work we have a walk in freezer that averages -20 temps I had friend wear the coat while he did an inventory for about 45min he said his core never once got any where near uncomfortable, I wore it in there for about 5min and was very impressed overall its a very well made and designed jacket, the pull cords along the bottom's of the shell and liner give you a double barrier, my favorite thing about the jacket is the adjustable hood when adjusted correctly its very nice fitting with a good field of vision.

First off I'm 6'-4", 215 pounds. I bought a Bugaboo Parka last year and wanted to upgrade to the Omni-Heat.
Here are my positives: Looks great; Very warm; The hood is large enough for my 7-3/4" head and the metal inside the bill of the hood is excellent for keeping it from sagging in my face; Great wet/snowy weather performance; Shell sleeve length is perfect (I'm a 36-37 sleeve).
Here are my negatives: As with the Bugaboo... few interior pockets with liner zipped in; As others have said, the (bright) Omni-Heat liner comes out of the shell near my hands and I'm always pushing it back in; Both the inside and outside of the liner are so slick, the liner pulls up at my waist as there is little friction to keep it from doing so. Maybe adding a few straps to keep it down would solve this, but I guess that might interfere with the powder skirt?; For my second jacket in a row from Columbia, the liner is too short in overall and sleeve length for me to wear by itself. Please make the liners longer guys! Lastly, the liner cuffs could really use two attachment points to the shell intead of just one. It's tough to pull my big hands through the liner cuffs and I'm just waiting to break the one strap that holds the liner to the shell.

I would recommend this product.

My only wish is that the length would be a little longer. I am 6'10" and ordered the 2XLT the sleeve length is good but the waist length could be a couple inches longer. I love the coat, the liner jacket is super warm. I havent gone snowboarding in it yet but I believe it will be great and keep me nice and toasty.

i ordered this jacket for my husband for christmas and he was very disappointed that it did not fit him. he normally wears an XL in jackets but i ordered an XXL in tall just to be on the safe side and he couldn't even get the jacket to close. he had his heart set on this jacket but it was returned.

The main reason for the review is to comment on my disappointment with the lining of the jacket. Although it is really nice and warm, every time I put the jacket on the silver lining pokes out at the cuff. I would expect that the lining is better secured so that this does not happen - last time I had a jacket that did that was a cheap jacket in the 80's

I was very disappointed in the fit of this jacket. The quality is excellent, but hard to determine what size you actually need by using the size chart. Reviewed the size chart and ordered accordingly, but jacket was too small, fit very tight. Returned the jacket.

Ordered a 3XLT based on previous reviews that said it was on the small side - The 3XL fits well in the shoulders but is large around the waist. The jacket is very warm and beads water like crazy! Very happy with the jacket!

Got this parka in 3XLT for my boyfriend who is at 6'8", 275lbs, hard to fit and even harder to shop for. His normal size is 2XLT, but reading other reviews recommending that I go up a size, I got him a 3XLT. It fits him perfectly. The sleeves are nice and long and the size up seems just right for him. He loves it!

After a week, I am fully impressed with this coat. I've worn it, with the liner, in temperatures 25-55. I was never chilled or too hot. The Lhotse regulates temperature brilliantly.
I'm endowed with long arms, and a slender torso. The tall size fits great without being Huge in the chest and stomach. The fit of this parka is very athletic. It moves with me without binding or bunching. This is the best ski coat I've ever owned.

Happy with this parka! I use it mostly in the city - very comfy.
Now it's around 32F (zero by celsius), so i have some doubts about really freezing weather (5F and lower), will see...
But so far i am really happy!
Had to order it from US store (i live in Russia) - here we have no online store, and no 2012 collection as well, just few models, and the price is double!

After 2 months of use - zipper started to detach in few parts at the junction with the seam... Very disappointed with it.
But the rest is OK - tried it in -15F - if you move - it keeps you warm!

I was really excited about getting this jacket. Great quality but I sent it back because it looked like a belly shirt on me. I bought a bugaboo jacket last year and for whatever reason all the "tall" jackets this year are around 3 inches shorter! The tall guys need the longer jackets back!!!!

Bought this coat for my husband in size 2XL Tall. He is 6'5, 260 lbs. It fits perfectly - a rare thing for him since he is so tall. He said it is the warmest coat he has ever had. The coat is a medium weight and not too bulky.
