Montana’s southern flank has some of the best elk and deer hunting on the planet, but it’s rugged country that necessitates rugged gear like this classic heavyweight wool pant.

Excellent wool pants for the price. I bought these for my son and he said in the coldest weather he was warm. My other son is planning on buying a pair as well. Fits perfect - true to size.

Can't beat them in snowy and cold conditions. Wool does what it is supposed to do. Keeps you dry and warm. Remember to buy them early before cold hits so you can hem them to fit, otherwise you will have to role them up which can collect and accumulate snow! Great Product!

Fit for a tall guy (like most Columbia pants!)

Fit great around the waist but the knee pads hang lower than my knees when standing and I had to hem them up quite a bit. On the other hand, when kneeling, they are in the right spot and that's when it counts. Otherwise they are nice and heavy wool pant.
I would recommend this product.

These pants are the best you can get for winter. While coyote hunting in the winter i typically wear 1 leopard print man thong, 1 pair of long johns, 2 pairs of pants, 1 pair of "Blizzard Proof" coveralls, and my knees would still soak through while laying in the snow and then you're wet and freezing. The knees on these columbia pants are double thick, as well as the wool coat that matches these pants the elbows are double thick. Very warm quiet gear for hunting. PS I was joking about the thong. PS My waist size is 32 and I ordered a size 34 and they are perfect for wearing your regular hunting pants underneath, in case it warms up and you want to shed the wool. Hey columbia, could you make some fingerless wool gloves (so you can still have your trigger finger) that have attatched mittens that would match this setup in the snow camo? Just an idea. I'd buy'em
I would recommend this product.

Gallatin wool pants and jacket

I have been hunting and fishing with these clothes and the only thing i find wrong with them is they are to warm to wear most of the year. They are quiet and soft and contrary to the dry clean only tag you can wash them on gentle or wool setting with sport wash or other such detergent for wool and hang to dry. May not be to the manufacturers recommendation ,but i dont dry clean anything. They just get softer and more comfortable. I would be thrilled if there was a vest added to the line. I dont understand why some companies make wool clothing and charge huge prices, but these items are priced very well and worth every cent.
I would recommend this product.

These pants are probably wonderful. They seem well made and look sturdy and warm. But my husband asked for washable wool hunting pants. Absolutely no where on the web did it say if they were washable or dry clean only. I called Columbia to ask and the sales person told me he couldn't find it either, but he assured me they "must be" washable. So I went ahead and ordered. I immediately looked to the tag, which clearly says they are dry clean only. Hunting pants get animal hair, blood and dirt on them. At our house, that means we only buy machine washable, and I sure wish Columbia had told us the truth about these.
I do not recommend this product.

Congradulations on another successful product line. The Gallatin Range collection is first rate, practical, light, quiet, flexible, hardy and inexpensive. All of this equates to a great product. I own both the pants and shirt jacket. I think an expansion of this line is needed. The new jacket you offered this year is nice but I think with improvements a Gallatin Range Wool Parka is a must! Same great wool materials, double layered elbows, mid to upper thigh length, big pockets, waist draw string to retain warmth, detachable hood. I think it would be a winner. Also, consider a filson style mackinaw vest and perhats a matching hat. It would round off the collection well. A word on the new jacket you guys released this year. It is to short to be a parka and its lack of a waist draw string means the fabric gets in the way around
I would recommend this product.
