These lasted about six weeks before developing a hole in the toe section and both socks wearing thin in the heel. I got them in early November, out of heavy hiking season. In the winter I do about 4 miles a day, through some local woods to walk the dog, but 2 miles of that is getting to and from the woods. Not strenuous hiking.
Plus, I wear liner socks. I have hiking socks that are over 10 years old, so its not like I am hard on socks. This pair just is not good quality. Columbia should take their name off of them ASAP. This is what I would expect if buying hiking socks from Target, no where close to REI or a outdoor dealer's quality.
Its surprising, because the wast majority of Columbia products have proven to be high quality.
I do not recommend this product.

I bought these for use at work as a firefighter and EMT. Not many of my socks last long and are even less comfortable. After a month these socks still feel like the first time I wore them even after wearing them on every shift and multiple washes. They also have been keeping my feet dryer and my feet have not been hurting as much after some 16 hour shifts. I plan on buying more.
I would recommend this product.

I think these socks work well, i use them in my gortex hiking boots while at work when out in the field collecting monitor well water samples so my feet stay a bit warmer than using the thin socks. They felt good inside and tend to dry good when washed and hung out on the clothes line.
I will have to see how long they hold up over the year(s).
I would recommend this product.

Comfortable, soft, and warm without being overly bulky. Can be worn with existing shoes and boots without being constricting or feeling like there is not enough room. Like them very much.
I would recommend this product.

These socks are very comfortable. The fabric directly above your foot's arch is thinner than the rest of the sock which really helps give your foot a little extra room and comfort in the shoe. The top of your foot doesn't really give off any heat so your foot still stays warm.
I would recommend this product.

I work in outdoor education, so I need good hiking socks. These kept my feet warm the whole day in 30-40 degree weather without insulated boots. I was skeptical first about how thin the material was, but my doubts were quickly eased once I put them on.

I have a real need for soft, warm, comfy socks, and I have never found them in all my years of searching UNTIL I bought these socks. I love them! I am a size 11 in women's and these fit perfectly. I live in the mountains, and these socks keep my feet warm. I also like soft socks, and again, these socks fit the bill. I recommend these to anyone who is hard to please when it comes to socks!

I wear a men's size 10-10 1/2. I ordered size large. They were a little long, but after washing shrunk just enough to make them almost perfect. The socks feel really nice on. No bunching or seams in the toes, no balling up or pilling on the inside. They feel slightly warmer than socks without wool so far, but I haven't has a chance to use them in snowy conditions yet. The height is a little taller than some hiking socks, which works for me. Hopefully they last a long time. They seem very well made, so I am fairly confident that I will get years of use out of them.

I am still looking for another pair of Columbia socks like the ones I have that have twice as much Merino wool on both the sole and up to the top as this Hiker. They are several inches shorter in the leg, and perfect as work or hiker socks.
I would recommend this product.
